Words of wisdom through articles...
Article submissions should follow these
guidelines:
-
Article must be original and not have
been published on your website/blog or in any other publication.
Remember, articles are a great way to show a technique, so the more
pictures the better!
-
Submit Concept Submission: Send us a
short paragraph explaining the idea of your article.Send all submissions
to
Submissions
Relations. Be sure to place in the subject line the Issue
that you are submitting to.
-
Please allow at least a week for a decision
to be made, if you don't hear from us within two weeks, drop us
another note to remind us.
Once approved, please follow these guidelines:
-
Pictures: We encourage you to take clear,
detailed pictures of all the steps described in your article. We
need a minimum of 2 pictures that show the item/stitch clearly.
Size: 300 pixels and at 72dpi resolution. JPEG format.
-
Attach all your pictures to your submission
and numbered all your pictures as follows. 1, 2, 3, etc.
-
In your article, include thumbnails
of all the pictures along with the following writing under each
picture: [insert picture (insert # of picture) here] in capital
red letters.
Tips on taking better pictures: Take your
pictures in a bright setting. If taking a picture of a hat, avoid
taking pictures in the middle of the day when the sun is right over
head. Taking pictures at midday will create deep shadows. Keep in
mind the knitted item and focus the camera on it--if there is surrounding
items that take the attention off the knitted item, choose another
location to shoot the photograph.
